Two-way radios are probably the simplest forms of technology but can prove to be a game changer when hunting along with your partner. Some people use cell phones and text message is not a good way to communicate while hunting. While it does not make noise, but it is not a great way to communicate. When sending text messages, you are looking down and typing the text using your phone and most probably you will be missing the buck passing by.

Nice thing about two way radios is that you can talk to everybody at the same time. Cell phone lets you talk to only one person.

1. When you open the package look at the manual and read through section which talks about roger beep setting. Roger beep is a sound that you hear every time you switch on the radio or use Push to Talk Button. The first important tip for hunters is to go through the manual and take the roger beep off. You certainly do not want to hear that beep when you are at the woods or any body else that you are speaking with.

2.When you are hunting with your partner, start your hunting as afar as away from your partner and work your way around in “U” shape pattern around you partner, this way you will be covering twice as much as area as possible. Any animals in the are mostly likely to be visible to one of you and you can communicate using two way radios to coordinate the hunt. Essentially one person walks/stalks their prey and another person effectively hunt the prey if sighted.

3. Next important thing to do is find a channel other than 1 and less people will be using other channels especially above channel number 10 and you will have much less chatter on the radios.

4. Get a headset accessory which allows to listen to people talking to you but would not broadcast anything you are talking .These earpieces will allow you to communicate with little movement.

5.Another great tip is to program the “call” sound to sound like a wild animal and you will not spooking your prey while hunting. Of course this is not required if you are hunting with out a head set. Another great feature that you can make use of is built LED light which allows to find your way around in the dead of the night or in the early morning.

6.Emergency alert button is other safety thing which helps the hunters in an emergency. Emergency alert button send an alarm out and raises volume of other radios or uses a different tone to alert the recievers.We encourage you to read the manual and use the emergency alert button when necessary
